Student Diversity Mini Grants
We encourage your organization(s) to apply for OMA/DE Mini Grants. The purpose of the Student Diversity Mini Grants is to encourage networking and collaborative diversity programming between student groups or organizations. The goals of the proposed activities are: (1) to contribute to personal enrichment; (2) to help improve the cultural climate at Indiana University; (3) to provide an educational experience leading to a better understanding of ethnic group issues. The highest priority will be given to proposals which directly address issues related to ethnic minority students at IU.

As the OMA/DE Mini Grant Committee anticipates rising interest in the grants, a copy of a model application has been included at the end of this notice for your benefit.

Guidelines:
  1. Submit paper or electric form of proposal by the deadline.
  2. All applications must be typed.
  3. Only currently enrolled IU students and registered student organizations may receive funds.
  4. At least two student groups or organizations must participate in the planning and execution of the event.
  5. Only items indicated on the proposal will be funded.
  6. Evaluations must be administered at the close of the event; those evaluations must be appended to a brief report submitted by the sponsoring student groups or organizations (the report is due 14 days following the event or future funding may be jeopardized).
  7. All publicity and advertising must acknowledge the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
  8. Only ten percent (10%) of allocated funds may be used for food unless there is prior approval.
Student Diversity Mini Grant funds are restricted and may NOT be used in the following manner:
  • for events/programs that involve the sale of tickets
  • for activities held off campus (unless there is prior approval)
  • for newsletters, journals, newspapers
  • student stipends
