My name is Leah Myhre and I am a sophomore returning to the Global Village this year. I’m currently from Crawfordsville, IN, but having lived in various locations across the nation and overseas, I call many places my home. As a result, I relish the opportunity to learn about foreign cultures and languages. I’m studying Political Science, Spanish, and English, and when I’m not hitting the books I’m always up for a game of soccer. As the Global Village student assistant, I’m here to help out with small tasks and errands around the GV, so please never hesitate to ask me for anything The Global Village is a great place to be and you can be sure that if you’re here, you’ll have a great time.

Photo of DJ Funkhouser DJ Funkhouser
My name is DJ, but I've been called Funk, DJ Funk, Funkalicious, and DJ the DJ. Use any, and I'll respond. I lived in the GV last year, so don't be afraid to ask me something non-class related. Until spending this past May in Spain I had never traveled outside the US. However, because of that experience I've decided that I'd like to teach English to Spanish grade-schoolers as part of a one year program through Spain's Ministry of Education. I'm planning to spend this spring in Argentina studying the Latin American political economy. I'm a cognitive science major, although, I fill up most of my electives with film and music classes. That's where my interests lay, and hopefully myself after college.

My name is Toni Haraldsen. I’m a junior majoring in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies, as well as minors in Geography, Coaching, and Classical Civilization. As an army brat, I’ve moved a lot and don’t really consider any particular place as my home. Right now, my parents live in Stavanger, Norway. I spent my freshman year in the Global Village and had an amazing experience. I am literate in Spanish, but will be studying Samoan in New Zealand beginning in January.  I plan on student teaching either in China or on a Navajo reservation during my last semester of college. On campus, I am involved in STAND: An Anti-Genocide Coalition, Labyrinth Literary Magazine, Students for a Free Tibet, and the IU NAACP
