1. The minutes of 11/19 were approved as amended.

2. Geoff Conrad informed the committee that Vic Viola resigned; as a result there will be an opening in the next election for someone in the area of Biological, Mathematical and Physical Sciences.

3. Dean Hanson joined the meeting at 9:15 a.m.

A. He informed the committee that letters have been sent to those faculty evaluated by the Salary Equity Review Committee. The letters outline the principles of the review process and also include recommended salary adjustments.

B. He also stated that hiring of tenure-track faculty for 2000-01 is well under way, as is retention of senior faculty.

C. It was also announced that the College is compiling a record of its outreach activities to both the community and other schools.
Dean Hanson left the meeting at 9:45.

D. The committee discussed the proposed Folklore/Ethnomusicology Reorganization. A written response and action to be taken will be sent to Dean Hanson for his consideration.
