1. The minutes of 23 July and 9 July were approved as amended.

2. Bonnie Sklarski informed the committee that she will not be able to serve this year. Efforts will be made to find a replacement.

3. Following the guidelines for filling vacancies on the BFC, the committee will make recommendations for filling a six month appointment and a two year appointment. Both appointments are in Unit 1.E which is comprised of Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and West European Studies.

4. The committee started development of agenda issues for the year.

5. Deans Hanson and Zaret joined the meeting at 10:00.

A. Dean Hanson introduced David Zaret, new Executive Associate Dean of the College.

B. Dean Hanson requested that the committee develop a policy on AI Grievance Procedures, and that it also assist him in the Salary Equity process.
