Members Present: James Craig, Daniel Dinnsen, Noretta Koertge, Elizabeth Raff, Geoff Conrad (Chair) Also Present: Dean Russell Hanson

1. After further discussion of the Folklore/Ethnomusicology restructuring proposal, the committee agreed to send some preliminary suggestions to Deans Lowengrub and Hanson. It was also reiterated that all affected parties be a part of the restructuring process.

2. The committee discussed various procedures for handling AI grievances, and it also decided to ask Dean Hanson for clarification of these procedures.

3. Dean Hanson joined the meeting at 10:15.

A. He thanked the committee for its suggestions concerning the Folklore/Ethnomusicology restructuring.

B. There was initial discussion of procedures for handling AI grievances with special attention paid to creating a definition for "satisfactory progress."

C. Dean Hanson announced that there will be a three year payout schedule to individuals receiving compensation from the Special Salary Equity Review Committee. He also stated that the distribution of new computers should be completed this year.
