Also Present: Acting Dean Designate Russell Hanson

1. The minutes of 11 June were approved as amended.

2. Newly appointed Acting Dean Designate Hanson met with the Committee and stressed his commitment to strong leadership and a focus on the day-to-day functions of the College in addition to any issues that must be faced and resolved. He affirmed an ongoing commitment to the CIP process, and he also expressed a desire to work toward improving morale in the College.

3. There was further discussion of a proposed reorganization of the Department of Folklore. As a result, the Committee formulated a set of questions for the affected units to consider.

4. It was agreed that a web page will be created for the Policy Committee that will include basic information on the purpose and function of the Committee. Minutes will also be available.

5. Jim Craig, chair of the search committee for the dean of the College, announced that over the summer the committee is collecting names for the position and the next full meeting will probably be held in August.
