Policy Committee Minutes: May 7, 1999

Members Present: Julia Bondanella, Geoff Conrad, James Craig, Daniel Dinnsen, Steven Girvin, Dale McFadden, Bonnie Sklarski, Vic Viola, Elizabeth Raff, Chair

Also Present: Dean Morton Lowengrub

1. Approval of minutes for 30 April was delayed to a future meeting.

2. Committee Reports/Other Business

    Budget Conferences
    Some supplemental comments were given by Geoff Conrad regarding his recent attendance at the Economics Department meeting.

    Other Business
    There was a brief discussion of the current status of the Salary Equity Review Committee along with the desire to know more about its procedures, deadlines, and decisions.

3. Geoff Conrad was elected Policy Committee Chair for 1999-2000.

4. Dean Lowengrub joined the meeting at 9:30.

    A. He informed the committee of his decision to accept a position at Yeshiva University starting September 1, 1999.

    B. He stressed his continued strong commitment to the College, and in particular he talked about the ongoing CIP process and how it will continue beyond his tenure and contribute to the well-being of the College.

The meeting adjourned at 11:00 a.m.
