The meeting convened at 2:30.

Minutes of the February 7th meeting were amended and then approved.

The CPC discussed items that CPC members would like to see near the top of upcoming agendas.

Erik Bucy has agreed to chair a subgroup of the CPC that is formulating a recommendation to Dean Swamy regarding the proposal for a Department of Second Language Studies, a subgroup that is already interviewing faculty members with particular interest or expertise in this academic area. Further comments from interested faculty can go either to Erik Bucy (ebucy@indiana.edu) or to Rob Shakespeare.

Chuck presented substantial amounts of data concerning salary trends in the College for faculty, professional staff, and clerical staff during the period from 1997-2004. CPC members will be studying his data and his conclusions in anticipation of returning to the matter for a more informed discussion of general salary equity issues in two weeks.

With relatively little time remaining at the end, Pam distributed an analysis and a set of recommendations that she has prepared on faculty gender equity issues, issues that the CPC will be discussing during the next few weeks.

The meeting adjourned at 4:00.
