Present: Judith Anderson (chair), Bob Becker, Sandra Dolby, Roger Levesque, Al Ruesink (recorder), Rob Shakespeare, and Rick Van Kooten.

The meeting convened at 4:15.

Minutes of the meeting of December 16, 2005, were approved after minor amendments were made.

We looked briefly at one of the policy statements that we have been considering and decided more work (beyond the time available at this meeting) was needed before it goes out for faculty comment.

Judith and Bob reported on a meeting they had with Chancellor Gros Louis regarding the selection of a Dean for the College.

The CPC generated a short list of possible interim (or more permanent) dean candidates to recommend to the appropriate administrator and outlined the strengths and weaknesses of those we would most like to see considered.

The Nominations Committee of the Bloomington Faculty Council, chaired by Julie Bobay, had asked the CPC for suggestions for search committee members. We generated a list of groups/areas that should be included on the search committee and also a list of some twenty-five faculty members who would be good search committee members. These were to be transmitted quickly to Julie Bobay by Judith.
