• Accepted subcommittee report on Fundamental Skills: English Composition.

Discussion:

• Guest Laura Plummer (Campus Writing Program) made a brief presentation regarding their campus-wide efforts to teach students and faculty about plagiarism. She discussed initiatives taken, including IU’s participation in the pilot program of turnitin.com.
• The topic of English proficiency exams for second undergraduate degree candidates was tabled until the next meeting.
• Academic misconduct in COLL courses was discussed: cases, sanctions, procedures and the Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct.
